Description:
White to grey flakes or powder. Belongs to the group
of Lewis acids.
Application(s):
As a catalyst in Friedel-Crafts reactions, in
the manufacturing of petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dye intermediates, in dodecylbenzene, ethylbenzene, ethyl chloride, anthraquinone, acetophenone, butyl rubber, phenylethyl alcohol, aromatic chemicals, pesticides, etc.
In the metallurgical industry for refining and plating of metals, for the production of aluminium, as a flux in aluminium smelting, and as a nucleu inhibitor in the production of titanium dioxide.
