Trifluoromethanesulfonic Acid
Description:
A clear, colourless liquid, otherwise known as
Triflic Acid, which belongs to the group of
so-called “super acids”.
Application(s):
As a catalyst in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals, polymerization of ethers and siloxanes, as a polymerization catalyst of olefins, as a catalyst in Friedel-Crafts alkylation and acylation, in Diels-Alder reactions, for the hydrogenation of alkenes, in cyclizations, in deblocking reactions, etc.

Description:
A clear, colourless liquid that hydrolizes in contact with water to give Triflic Acid. Also known as Triflic Anhydride.
Application(s):
In fine chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis, reactions with carbonyl compounds, amination reactions, esterification reactions, etc.
